Big changes are coming to CoinPoker.

On March 2nd is a major overhaul of their client. In addition to moving everyone to a newly built platform, they are offering CoinPoker 100% rakeback to their players for the entire month of March. This is by far the biggest move CoinPoker has made in the nine years since they launched. This could very well be the largest and most aggressive move made by anyone in the online poker space this year.

A New Way to Talk About Rakeback

Grinders understand rakeback. CoinPoker 100% rakeback is even easily understood. A rake-free month, instead of the standard 30%.

Every dollar paid in rake by CoinPoker players from March 2–15 will be returned daily to the player’s account. Those funds will be available for withdrawal immediately. There will be no opt-in required to receive the rakeback. There will be no tiered unlocking process. And there will be no playthrough requirements. CoinPoker will essentially make playing poker free for two weeks.

In the final two weeks of the month, the way rake is distributed will change. But the amount of rakeback players get will remain the same. Instead of refunding rakeback directly back to players, CoinPoker will redistribute rake through splash drops, leaderboard entries, and tournament credits. These methods will encourage players to continue playing, rather than creating a temporary rush of players.

It’s not a marketing gimmick. It’s a liquidity injection.

And it shows confidence. Brands don’t remove a profit center unless they believe the improved product will keep players after the promotion ends.

The Bigger Story – The Software Upgrade

Underlying the promotion is a much bigger event: the retirement of CoinPoker’s current client.

When the new client launches on March 2, all players’ accounts will automatically transfer to the new client. The new client will be a complete rebuild — not a refresh. The rebuild affects both user-facing functionality and the underlying infrastructure.

The lobby has been reorganized to allow for better visibility into tournaments. The performance of tables has been optimized. The number of players a player can multi-table has increased. Users now have options for visual settings. Animations will be smoother without negatively impacting stability.

Both Windows and Mac users will have separate downloadable clients. Mobile players will be able to use either the native CoinPoker app or the web version on iOS and Android devices. The mobile and desktop clients will work seamlessly together.

For a brand that built much of its initial reputation on being flexible with cryptocurrency and providing alternative payment rail options, this represents a significant strategic shift. CoinPoker is no longer touting itself as “the crypto option.” CoinPoker is now touting itself as a full-scale competitor in terms of software quality.

That represents a larger pivot than the rakeback.

More Traffic Options

CoinPoker will also introduce four new formats in March — each designed to bring more traffic to the site outside of traditional Hold’em.

Six Card Pot Limit Omaha (PLO6) will include stakes ranging from micro to super high and will target players who prefer volatile games with complex equity.

Double Board Bomb Pots will eliminate pre-flop and run two boards simultaneously, which increases the potential for large swings and more post-flop complexity.

All-In or Fold tables will be simple and quick decision-making environments for high-volume players.

Multi-Day Tournaments will feature phased structures that allow players to participate in multiple entry flights and contribute to a growing prize pool.

None of these are superficial. Each is a structural attempt to increase liquidity channels.

No modern poker room survives on a single format.

Ecosystem breadth is the determining factor for sustainability for modern poker rooms.

Internal Tools & Fewer External Dependencies

What may be even more telling is what CoinPoker has integrated directly into the client.

A native heads-up display ( HUD) provides real-time information about your opponents.

EV Cashout allows you to realize equity before the river in all-in situations. Multi-run boards decrease variance in large pots. The hand replayer has been redesigned from the bottom up. CoinPoker has created a Skill Score ranking system that tracks players’ tournament performance.

Bubble protection gives players a refund of their buy-ins if they miss qualifying for a final table in a multi-table tournament. Blind rollover and roll-forward mechanisms preserve larger stacks for players in the later stages of a tournament.

Each of these are tools that experienced volume players typically source from other software or from specialized operators. By integrating these tools into the main client, CoinPoker is signaling a commitment to retaining experienced volume players, not just attracting casual players.

It is also closing the gap between CoinPoker and the larger established brands that have traditionally dominated through breadth of ecosystem offerings.

Timing & Market Context

The online poker market in 2026 is highly saturated, extremely fragmented, and very competitive, both within the fiat space and within the crypto space. Major operators have spent millions of dollars in ambassador programs, technological investments, and aggressive loyalty programs over the last 12 months.

CoinPoker is answering this competition by combining these strategies into a single launch window: software upgrade, expansion of game formats, and a highly publicized value proposition.

CoinPoker still accepts fiat currency alongside popular cryptocurrencies such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, Tether, and Solana — allowing for continued flexibility while pursuing mainstream relevance.

If the anticipated surge in traffic occurs, players will likely see deeper fields in tournaments, softer mid-stakes cash pools, and more action across non-traditional formats. The real question is whether the players will stay once the rake subsidy ends.

That is the risk.

CoinPoker 100% rakeback is not the defining moment

Coinpoker 100% rakeback is the obvious hook.

Rebuilding the client from scratch is where CoinPoker truly aims for the larger share of the global online poker market. The short bonus burst is more of a way for them to invite you to take a look at what they have been working on.

CoinPoker is betting that if players experience a frictionless month inside a modernized ecosystem, they will not leave when normal economics resume.

March 2 is not merely a promotional launch. It is a reset of the platform — and possibly the moment CoinPoker stops being viewed as an alternative and starts being viewed as a competitor.

Bold moves are extremely rare in online poker.

This is one of them. To keep track on what’s new and how the community respond to it, you can follow the CoinPoker social media channels.
