Poker has never suffered from a shortage of opinions.
Ask ten poker players about tournament chops, tanking, staking, etiquette, solvers, controversial rulings, poker personalities, or what is good for the future of the game, and you may get fifteen different answers.
Poker Chaos is a new online poker debate show created to put those disagreements where they belong: face-to-face, with passionate advocates defending both sides and a jury listening to the arguments.
The first episode of Poker Chaos is currently expected to premiere in mid-to-late September 2026, with the official date, inaugural debate topic, and guest lineup to be announced soon.
What Is Poker Chaos?
Poker Chaos is built around one simple idea:
Take the poker arguments that never seem to get settled and give both sides a chance to make their case.
Instead of another interview show or friendly roundtable where everyone generally agrees, Poker Chaos is deliberately designed around opposing viewpoints.
Each episode will tackle a controversial or thought-provoking issue from the poker world and bring together people with strong opinions on both sides.
The objective isn’t necessarily to establish that one side is universally right and the other is wrong.
It’s about making the strongest argument, challenging conventional wisdom, listening to opposing perspectives, and perhaps even changing someone’s mind.
The Poker Chaos Format
Each episode features 10 people on screen: host Joey Gargiulo, six debaters, and a three-person jury.
Debate Team A
Three participants represent one side of the issue and make the strongest case they can for their position.
Debate Team B
Three participants take the opposing position and attempt to convince the jury that their side has the better argument.
The Poker Chaos Jury
Three participants serve as the jury. Ideally, they enter the discussion neutral, undecided, or at least genuinely willing to listen to both sides before reaching their conclusions.
The Host
Joey Gargiulo serves as host and moderator, keeping the conversation moving, challenging arguments when necessary, and making sure both sides have an opportunity to be heard.
The debate teams aren’t simply arguing with each other.
They’re trying to persuade the people in the middle.
Can Team A convince the jury?
Can Team B?
Can someone present an argument so compelling that a member of the opposing team actually begins reconsidering their own position?
That’s when Poker Chaos really begins.
The Jury Changes the Debate
Poker discussions on social media frequently become two opposing camps talking past one another.
Poker Chaos adds something different: people whose job is to actually listen.
The jury gives every debate a destination.
Participants aren’t rewarded simply for being louder, more famous, or more stubborn. They have to communicate their position well enough to persuade people who may not have agreed with them when the discussion began.
That turns an argument into a genuine battle of ideas.
And poker certainly has plenty of ideas worth battling over.
What Will Poker Chaos Debate?
Virtually nothing involving poker culture is automatically off the table.
Future episodes could explore controversial tournament rules, final-table chops, tanking, etiquette, staking and backing, poker media, cheating and game integrity, tournament structures, professional versus amateur poker, player conduct, the influence of solvers and technology, the responsibilities of poker rooms and tournament organizers, and the future of the game itself.
Then there are the countless unwritten rules, traditions, behaviors, personalities, and controversies that poker players have been arguing about for decades.
Some episodes may be serious.
Some may be funny.
Some may get heated.
The common denominator will be a subject where intelligent and passionate members of the poker community can genuinely disagree.
Poker Chaos Is Looking for Guests
The guest roster for upcoming episodes is still being assembled, and Poker Chaos is actively looking for potential participants for both the debate teams and the jury.
You don’t have to be a famous professional poker player to have something worth saying.
Potential guests can include professional and recreational players, tournament directors, dealers, poker media personalities, content creators, coaches, industry professionals, longtime members of the poker community, and passionate students and fans of the game.
There are two primary ways to participate.
If you have a strong opinion on a controversial poker subject and are willing to defend it, you may belong on one of the debate teams.
If you enjoy hearing opposing viewpoints, evaluating arguments, asking questions, and keeping an open mind, you may belong on the Poker Chaos Jury.
The qualifications are simple:
Have a perspective. Be willing to listen. Be willing to speak. And don’t be afraid to defend what you believe.
The First Poker Chaos Episode Is Coming in September
The current target is for the inaugural episode of Poker Chaos to premiere in mid-to-late September 2026.
